The Syrian Association for Purebred Arabian Horses and Basil Al-Assad Equestrian Club in Hama, in cooperation with the Horse Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, held the tenth periodic race on the equestrian facility track in Hama.

The race, in which 53 horses from several governorates participated, included seven rounds, where the horse Dajaniya Al-Farah, owned by Charbel Farah, won first place in the first half of the pure Syrian Arab horses, fourth degree, for a distance of 1400 metres. Hamza is flat, while the horse Al-Muhannad Hama, owned by Moaz Mahaini, won the third round title for the pure Syrian Arabian horses, third degree, for a distance of 1400 metres.

The Syrian horse Rami, owned by its owner Zuhair Ismail, won first place in the fourth race of the purebred Arabian horses registered a third degree for a distance of 1750 metres.

In the sixth race of the pure Syrian Arab horses, first and second degrees, for a distance of 1750 meters, the horse, Sahem of the Police Club, won the first place, while the horse Tim Tayfour, owned by its owners, Akram Tayfour and Yahya Murad, won the seventh round championship for purebred Arab horses registered first and second degrees for a distance of 1750 meters.

The head of the Basil al-Assad Equestrian Club in Hama, Dr. Ghanem Barazi, said in a statement to SANA’s sports reporter that the race witnessed a wide participation of horses and jockeys from different governorates that competed strongly to win the first places, pointing out that Hama occupies an important position in the Syrian equestrian sport, whether by the number of its horses or its distinguished jockeys. They have achieved good results in the races this year.

For his part, the director of the equestrian facility in Hama, Abdul Raouf Al-Khani, explained that this race is the fourth hosted by the governorate out of ten races that took place in Syria this year, indicating that the equestrian facility in Hama is one of the huge cultural facilities in the country and includes a large number of horses and has witnessed a great expansion in recent years with the aim of Preserve this ancient sport.

A number of participants in the race expressed the strength of the race and its distinction from previous races in terms of the number of participants, the good performance of the horses and the excellent organization of the supervising authority, stressing that they practice the sport of parents and grandparents because of their great love for them and their desire to develop them for the better and instill their love in the hearts of the new generation.
