At least three Colombians lost their lives in "the recent riots in Ecuador's penitentiaries," the Colombian Foreign Ministry reported this Friday.
In a note sent by the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marta Lucía Ramírez, to the Colombian ambassador to Ecuador, Manuel Enrique Rosero —which was shared with the press by the Foreign Ministry's communications team—, the official requests that you offer " all the necessary support to the families of the victims, including the consular attention that is necessary so that they can proceed with the prompt repatriation of the corpses of their loved ones. "

Ramírez also requested "to inquire about the current state of health and integrity of the Colombians who are detained in those prisons."
The document does not identify the deceased and this Friday the National Service of Comprehensive Attention to Adults Deprived of Liberty and Adolescent Offenders of Ecuador (SNAI) had not ruled on the issue.
