The Wolfersdorf community has also decided to do this: the cooperation agreement with GigaNetz is accepted for the expansion of the fiber optic network.

The Wolfersdorf community has also decided to do this: the cooperation agreement with GigaNetz is accepted for the expansion of the fiber optic network.

Wolfersdorf

- After Deutsche GigaNetz GmbH presented a concept for the self-economic expansion of a gigabit-capable fiber optic infrastructure for the four municipalities of the VG in the Zollinger Bürgerhaus on October 27, representative Martin Marks was now also a guest at the Wolfersdorf municipal council meeting last Thursday.

With a detailed presentation of the GigaNetz project, he wanted to convince the council members to enter into a cooperation agreement with GigaNetz.

The project was well received: Anita Wölfle was unanimously authorized as mayor to conclude such an agreement.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Before Marks presented the GigaNetz concept, he presented the municipal council members with the most important advantages at a glance: "As soon as we as a company get the 'Go', it goes much faster than the long path of government subsidies," says Marks.

"In addition, there are no costs for the community, we work completely independently."

Technology for 80 years

The condition to which the project is tied assumes that 40 percent of households agree to sign a two-year contract. Here the VG offers a great advantage for the individual communities: "If, for example, only 30 percent of the households in Wolfersdorf want to participate, but in the VG a total of over 40 percent is achieved, then we will still expand in all four communities." Another promise : "If we bury the fiber optics now, our technology will withstand increasing data usage for the next 80 years."

Local councilor Josef Denk is critical of the cooperation agreement: "We have to adhere to regulations for 30 years, but it is not specified what the GigaNetz has to comply with."

If you say that you want to work with us, we will make the contract exactly how you want it to be. "

Unanimous vote

Mayor Anita Wölfle was convinced of the project: "We can't lose anything, but gain a lot." Wölfles opinion is also reflected in the decision of the committee: The Wolfersdorf municipal council voted unanimously for the planned fiber optic expansion and authorized Wölfle to sign the cooperation agreement to enter the GigaNetz.
