In France, the health debate seems to be caught between two camps with opposing but equally irrational positions. On the one hand, those who, in defiance of the empirical evidence, deny the effectiveness of the vaccine. On the other, those who underestimate it, arguing that vaccination alone is "insufficient" and must be combined with the maintenance of barrier gestures (forever?). The former argue that if the vaccine were effective, we would not continue to wear masks despite our 91% of adults vaccinated. The latter provide them with arguments, calling for response to any increase in the number of cases by restrictions (in a quasi-religious reflex since even a perfectly useless measure such as the mask on the outside will be supported). The former refuse to place their trust in scientists,the latter - often scientists - believe that it is their duty to exaggerate
