Great honor for councilor Christine Stein (CSU): She received the bronze medal of merit - appreciation for an unbelievably extensive commitment.

Langenbach - The Free State has awarded the ex-vice mayor and ex-district councilor from Langenbach the bronze medal of merit for her long communal work.

The special merits that Christine Stein (68) earned during her 30 years of involvement in local politics is not easy to put into words.

Mayor Susanne Hoyer drew far back in her eulogy.

Because stone has significantly shaped the development of the community.

As Vice Mayor at the side of the then town hall chief Josef Brückl, as long-time CSU chairwoman and last but not least as a youth officer.

For example, Stein was a founding member of the youth club.

To this day she is on the board of what Hoyer put it, “professionalized” youth club.

Stein contributed “very decisively”

She was also the driving force and organizer of the holiday program for many years.

Among other things, she initiated the “Youth Day” in Langenbach.

The honoree also played a leading role in the creation of the youth fire brigade.

"You got involved in very crucial areas," praised Hoyer at the awarding of the medal of merit.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Stein joined the CSU local association in 1989.

In 1990 she was elected to the local council.

"She represented the community with a lot of passion for six years as 2nd mayor," said Hoyer.

In Stein's career, there were a whole series of decisions and projects that were decisive for the development of Langenbach, as Hoyer made clear.

The new daycare centers also fall into the Stein era

She cited the acquisition and renovation of the “Alter Wirt” inn, the new construction of kindergartens with crèche in Langenbach and Niederhummel as well as the expansion of the cycle path network as outstanding examples.

Stein also contributed to improving flood protection, the water supply and the sewerage system.

In addition, as the founder and chairwoman of Agenda 21, she worked on the creation of an action program.

A lot of tasks and merits that, according to Hoyer, cannot be valued enough.

The highly acclaimed herself, who from 2002 to 2014 also brought her ideas and energy to the district council, said modestly about all of this: "Thank you, very much honor all at once."
