Naypyidaw-Sana

At least 15 people were killed and others are still missing after being swept away by strong waves in Myanmar's southeastern Mon state today.

"The waves washed away pilgrims who were walking along the sea to perform their rituals in the town of Tanbyuzayat," the Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted police in Myanmar as saying.

The police pointed out that the authorities had launched rescue and search operations for the missing.
