The National Institute of Migration in Mexico announced the rescue of about 600 migrants piled in two truck trailers in Mexico, noting that they came from 12 countries in Central America, Africa and the Indian subcontinent.
And the AFP news agency quoted the institute as saying yesterday that the migrants, 145 women and 455 men, who were monitored in the southeastern Mexican state of Veracruz, come from Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cameroon, Ghana, India and Bangladesh.
The National Institute of Migration said that the competent authorities for the protection of children will be resorted to to follow up on the cases of families or minors who travel alone.
He pointed out that there are two options available, the first is to help return them or give them the opportunity to remain in Mexico through regularization of their status.
Mexico is witnessing a large influx of immigrants through its territory as the passage between Central America and the United States.
