Brenner northern approach: Fear of the big cut

It must be prevented that the landscape is cut through by a new road.

A resolution for the burner inlet section can be reduced to this denominator.

District

- The authors of the resolution are the two district councilors and CSU members Andreas Lenz (Bundestag) and Thomas Huber (Landtag).

They sent their demands to their party friend and district administrator Robert Niedergesäß.

According to the will of the politicians, the district council should pass this resolution.

The Ebersberg district mainly affects the planned expansion of the Munich - Rosenheim - Kiefersfelden route.

The Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030 provides for a block compaction for the area between Munich-Trudering and Grafing due to the cramped development without the construction of additional tracks.

"The section between Grafing and Großkarolinenfeld, on the other hand, is to be implemented as a new, four-track expansion close to the route for speeds of up to 230 km / h," the initial situation is described in the resolution.

The federal government should first prove the necessity of the new line

First of all, Lenz and Huber demand that the federal government clearly demonstrate, based on a reliable forecast, that the construction of a new railway line is necessary. Should this be necessary, the additional tracks must be "routed to the existing". The existing road must therefore always be considered as an option in the route selection process, according to the two CSU mandate holders. The resolution says literally: “If new routes are required, then these must not cut through the landscape. Sensitive and densely populated areas such as the Bavarian foothills of the Alps must not be further burdened. An above-ground route deviating from the existing route is expressly rejected by the district council, all affected municipalities and the political mandate holders of the region.“Huber and Lenz are calling for a tunnel in the event that the new construction along the existing route should prove to be impracticable.

Noise protection as required for the new line

The MPs also insist on maximum noise protection.

The noise protection measures would have to be implemented at the "level of a new line" both for the upgrading of the existing line and for a possible new construction.

The existing line will have to carry the bulk of the freight and passenger traffic for decades to come.

Therefore, improvements to the new building level have to be made here beyond the measures that have already been promised.

But Lenz and Huber go even further: They are of the opinion that relief via the eastern corridor is imperative.

Not all future traffic could be handled via the Munich hub and the Munich - Rosenheim route.

This applies in particular to freight transport.

The expansion of the east corridor as a large relief route via Hof, Regensburg, Mühldorf, Rosenheim is indispensable in the medium and long term.
