It was a successful premiere: Zolling took part in city cycling for the first time - and made a lot of distance.

The clubs are now benefiting from this.

Zolling

- City Hall chief Helmut Priller is proud - proud of what the citizens of

Zolling have achieved

in the city bike campaign, in which the municipality took part for the first time this year.

In terms of the total number of kilometers cycled, the municipality of Zolling took third place with 79 766 cycled kilometers, behind the much larger municipalities of Freising and Moosburg.

Converted to the number of inhabitants, 16.35 kilometers are even number one in the district.

483 participants in 43 teams contributed to this success.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

All of this was worth several honors at the same time as Mayor Priller and the local council at the meeting on Tuesday. First the three teams that had cycled the most kilometers per capita were awarded: First place went to the “CF energetic water team”, which with five members covered 2204 kilometers (ie 441 kilometers per capita), second place went to “Starke Pflege Zolling” (six members, 2,491 kilometers and thus 451 kilometers per capita). Third place went to “Team Hammock” with 382 kilometers per person (with six team members and 2293 kilometers). The three prizes for the teams that had pedaled the most kilometers went to "S'Zollinger Theater", whose 22 team members pedaled 7376 kilometers, followed by the 27-person "Team Physio on tour", which made it 6004 Kilometers broughtand SpVgg Zolling, which covered 4,913 kilometers with 24 members. There were certificates for everyone - especially for the man who had the idea to participate and who, as the organizer, had a huge part in the success: Ewald Roddewig.

Five cents for every kilometer

It is thanks to him that youth work in Zollinger clubs benefits from the city cycling campaign: the local council decided not only to donate the surpluses from the rapid test center (minus the EUR 10,000 donation to Navis) to youth work , but to pay out five cents for every kilometer cycled in order to promote the work of young people in clubs.

Of the 35 associations in the municipality, 16 are doing youth work, and a total of 1165 young people have been registered with the municipality.

And so the almost 4,000 euros from the city bike campaign as well as the 22,670 euros profit from the rapid test center were paid out to the clubs according to the number of young people.

SpVgg Zolling, for example, can look forward to 9,322 euros, and SVA Palzing 7,452.23 euros.

At the other end of the “food chain” it looks like this: For one young person each, the FFW Oberappersdorf and the shooting club Ampertal Zolling receive EUR 27.82 each.
