There were three new imported cases of new pneumonia in Hong Kong yesterday (20th). They arrived in Hong Kong from Canada and Pakistan respectively. The remaining one is a 31-year-old foreign domestic helper who was initially diagnosed earlier and lives in Huiwen Building, Happy Valley.

Two of the imported cases have the L452R variant virus strain and the other has the N501Y variant virus strain. All patients have been vaccinated against the new crown vaccine.

The Hong Kong government is striving for customs clearance with the Mainland in recent months. A spokesman for the Hong Kong government said yesterday that the Mainland epidemic prevention and control expert group arrived in Hong Kong yesterday afternoon for a four-day inspection to learn about Hong Kong's epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic work and measures.

The mainland expert group is composed of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and the Health Commission.

The Chief Secretary for Administration Li Jiachao said at the briefing that the Hong Kong government will continue to strengthen and implement various epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic measures, create favorable conditions, promote restoration and gradually orderly "customs clearance" in the Mainland.
