Damascus Governorate: Qaboun industrialists contributed to the project to organize the northern entrance to Damascus

The Directorate of Legislative Decree 66 in Damascus Governorate confirmed that all industrialists, whether tenants or owners, in the Qaboun Industrial Zone within the project to organize the northern entrance to Damascus, will receive regulatory shares in the area in a fair and equitable manner.

And Eng. Riad Diab, director of the directorate, indicated during a meeting with the Qaboun Industrialists Committee in the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside that these shares will be evaluated according to the estimation of the value of real estate by a committee headed by a judge and the membership of two experts on behalf of the owners and two experts from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, noting that the directorate formed four committees to inventory and describe The reality of facilities, buildings, etc., and documenting this with pictures, and it works within the region in coordination with representatives from the Chamber of Industry. He explained that all facilities will be provided to the industrialists of the region during the submission of their requests to the Directorate of Implementation of Decree 66 in Mazzeh, who have the right in kind, whether it is rent, foregone, or any certified contract or not. Certified or any document proving this right accompanied by photocopies, provided that the applications are studied by the committees to resolve disputes and establish the rights of those entitled to it in accordance with the attached documents. In light of this, the Dividend Estimation and Distribution Committee distributes the stock shares, each according to its proven share in accordance with Law 10 of 2018.

For his part, the treasurer of the Damascus and its countryside Chamber of Industry, Engineer Muhammad Ayman Mawlawi, indicated that the industrialists participating in the meeting received clear answers to their questions and concerns from the representatives of the Damascus governorate, pointing out that there are a number of industrialists who have been rented for decades and have old, unapproved lease contracts “a reality.” Maintain lists of the names of those in order to preserve their rights.

For his part, Maher Al-Zayat, a member of the Chamber's Authority, explained that two industrialists from the Qaboun region will be elected within the committees that will be formed later as experts in the appreciation committees and other matters related to achieving justice for industrialists and owners in the region.
