Daniel Effenberger from Frettenried was amazed: For the birth of his son, friends had built a stork building made of metal.

You can see it at Staatsstrasse 2370.

Eurasburg

- An unusual work of art on State Road 2370 between Eurasburg and Beuerberg attracts the attention of drivers: it is estimated to be five meters high and weighs more than 500 kilos.

Employees and specialists from master metalworker Daniel Effenberger presented the unique stork tree to their boss for the birth of his son Josef in the meadow at the entrance to his apartment in Frettenried.

"They're crazy," said his wife Sabrina (29) after he had sent her the photo of the tree to the hospital. His friends had lured him out of the house that evening on the day he was born and led him to the tree at the entrance to the courtyard. They had to hurry to get the last jobs done on time during the day, because the Filius was born four days before the calculated date - “3350 grams and 50 centimeters tall,” reports the proud father.

He thinks the tree is “a cool thing”.

His colleagues “carved” the emblems out of structural steel.

They reflect dad's passions.

The 31-year-old is "totally into rock'n'roll".

This includes a weakness for Harley Davidson as well as the Wacken Festival that he likes to attend.

“And I'm a die-hard Bavarian.” Lederhose, Bavarian lions and his favorite beer speak volumes.

The sign at the top of the tree "Welcome to Fabulous Frettenried in Bavaria" is based on the famous Las Vegas sign.

“That rounds off the whole thing,” says Effenberger.

Isn't his wife a little jealous?

“No,” says the 31-year-old, “she likes something like that, too.” Which is probably a good part of the boy's curriculum vitae.

“You do your best,” says Effenberger with a smile.

“But you never know how they will develop.” By the way, the tree is supposed to amaze passers-by for quite a while.

"I told my landlord: Next year you'll have to mow around it."
