United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced that road accidents kill one person every 24 seconds in the world.
Guterres said in a tweet on Twitter on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, which falls today, that everyone should contribute to supporting efforts to make roads safer, stressing the need to focus on supporting efforts to protect people from road accidents, especially in developing and poor countries.
Guterres published an illustration that monitors road accident victims, including dead and injured, according to World Health Organization statistics.
According to the World Health Organization, road accidents result in 1.3 million deaths and 50 million injuries annually.
