The House of Education in Aleppo hosted a choral evening in honor of the late artist Mayada Bsilis, under the title “Between Us Live,” presented by Hanin’s choir from Safita, in cooperation with the Directorate of Theaters and Music and the Governorate of Aleppo, in the presence of a large audience.
Musician Samir Kwifati said in a statement to SANA reporter that this evening expresses loyalty to the late Mayada, whose presence we still feel today, as she left a distinctive imprint in the hearts of her fans who gathered today to commemorate her memory.
And Zikra Hajjar, a member of the Executive Office in the province of Aleppo, considered that the late Mayada gave the Syrian song Arab fame, and with her husband, the musician Samir Kwifati, she founded a school for the song and won several awards in the Syrian song festivals.
The musician Hamdi Al-Shater described the evening as a beautiful gesture from Hanin's choir by commemorating an icon of Syrian art, which includes unrepeatable statures and Mayada Bsilis, one of them, with the rich artistic legacy she left for generations.
Dr. Noha Bashour, founder and director of Hanin's choir, explained that the choir was in the process of preparations to honor the artist Mayada before her death, as she was preparing the modern Syrian school of song, and during more than 35 years she presented a high level of art and left a clear imprint in the field of Syrian song.
From the choir, Layal Maasrani showed that a number of diverse songs were presented by the late artist, amid the audience's interaction.
