More than 200 hunters and guests recently followed the Hubertus fair of the Bavarian professional hunters, which took place by torchlight outdoors in front of the Maria Königin in Fall church.

D. Alfons Hutter gave a sermon in which he appealed to "the hunter's shield of honor" and placed the motto of the Hubertus Day "honoring the creator in the creature" at the center.
The creatures of nature were symbolized by a large Hubertus deer laid out in front of the church portal.
Max Keler, Chairman of the Bavarian Professional Hunters, summed up in his speech what the corona pandemic had meant for game - first more calm, but then more restlessness and disruption.
"I think, more than ever before, we have to protect the creature with the hunting shield of honor."
Criticism of night killings
Keler also turned against night kills, against night optics, too long hunting times, the circumcision of wild habitats and against the all too widespread darkening of crimes and offenses against creatures in both hunted and non-huntable species.
The guests of honor at the Hubertusmesse included His Royal Highness Prince Wolfgang of Bavaria, Her Royal Highness Helene in Bavaria, Dr. Paul Leonhardt, the former head of the Supreme Hunting Authority of Bavaria, Wolfram Vaitl, the President of the Bavarian State Association for Horticulture and Land Care and Forest Director Rudolf Plochmann, head of the Bad Tölz operation of the Bavarian State Forests. During the subsequent "Hoagart'n", Revieroberjäger Andreas Hechenberger from the Sachs Hunting and Forestry Administration in Kiefersfelden was appointed game master by Prince Wolfgang of Bavaria on behalf of the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forests.
