Protest of her beloved Godfather: Dozens of demonstrators block the entrance to Jerusalem

Dozens of demonstrators blocked the entrance to Jerusalem near the String Bridge this evening (Sunday) in protest of the death of the boy Ahuvia Godfather.

They placed an inverted vehicle on the spot, on which they poured red paint and hung a poster calling for the opening of an external commission of inquiry to investigate the incident, in which a godfather was killed in a car overturning during a police chase.

Police and Border Police forces are working to remove the blockade.

Over the past few weeks, the protesters have demonstrated in Jerusalem several times.

These demonstrations were renewed ahead of the one-year anniversary of Godfather's death.

Nine people were arrested in a demonstration last Saturday.

On the previous Thursday about 200 people had demonstrated at the entrance to the city.

The entrance road to Jerusalem was blocked at the initiative of the police from the Givat Shaul junction to the Herzl junction from the Begin interchange, and heavy traffic was recorded in the area.

A week earlier, police arrested 21 protesters from the hundreds who demonstrated at the String Bridge plaza in Jerusalem.

During the demonstrations, some of the demonstrators climbed on buses and fortified themselves, throwing stones at the police and hitting vehicles.
