The Norwegian manager will end his career at the club after the 4: 1 defeat at Watford last night • Darren Fletcher may be his temporary replacement • David de Haa: "Embarrassing result"

Ola Gunnar Solskjaer will not continue in his role as Manchester United coach, it was reported this morning (Sunday) in the English media.

The luxury team suffered a heavy defeat last night, 4: 1 to Watford, which is in fact the fifth loss in the last seven Premier League games.

United are in seventh place in the table with just 17 points after 12 rounds.

According to reports, the club's leaders convened for talks into the night in which the Glazer family decided that the club would begin negotiations to finalize Solshiar's terms of departure.

Manchester are keen to give Solchiar a respectful farewell, and the official announcement is expected to be announced soon.

Technical director Darren Fletcher is expected to be the interim coach in Solshiar's place, with Michael Carrick serving as his assistant.

After the loss to Watford, Solskjaer raised his hands towards the foreign fans who accompanied the team and admitted in interviews that he feels in a low place, but still believes he can "turn it around".

Goalkeeper David de Gea, meanwhile, described the result as "embarrassing".

"We have been looking very bad for a long time. For a club like Manchester United, we have to fight for titles and big things. At the moment we are far from that," he added.

Solskjaer was initially appointed interim manager when Jose Mourinho was sacked in December 2018. In March 2019 the Norwegian signed a three-year contract as the club's permanent manager.

During his years as a player he scored 126 goals.

After leading the Red Devils to second place in the Premier League in the 2020/21 season, Solskjaer won another three-year contract last July.

But it looks like Manchester United are now looking for their fifth permanent manager since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
