Landsberg - Rather unnoticed by the general public, the district has had a new business promoter since spring.

His name is Sebastian Dold and he's already in the middle of a big project.

It's about developing a regional brand for the Landsberg district.

Preparations were already under way when the 28-year-old took up his post in the district office in April - in the department of his predecessor Bernhard Lachner, who took over the management of the department.

In this respect, his induction went well, says Dold.

The district council took the decision to introduce the regional brand in June of last year.

"It's about strengthening the regional identity, both internally and externally," explains the new business development agency.

The brand is intended to help companies acquire skilled workers, and it is intended to contribute to a stronger bond with the region among citizens.

Over the summer, the call for tenders ran for an agency that should support the district in the next steps.

Interviews are currently being conducted with actors from politics, business and culture, explains Dold.

Because the regional brand is not just about the conception of a logo and slogan, but also about creating a brand identity that authentically reflects the Landsberg district.

The logo and slogan are only "the tip of the iceberg", according to the business development agency.

The brand should be in place next summer, and then the “rollout” will follow.

The regional brand should also develop supra-regional charisma in the form of an online presence and make the district better known.

In his position as a business promoter, Dold sees himself as an “interface between companies and administration”.

His tasks include the business breakfast, which takes place twice a year and which even had around 70 participants as an online event in May.

In October it could take place in presence again.

As a platform for informal networking, the entrepreneur's breakfast is often used, says Dold.

In general, he perceives the regional economy to be very networked.

“The entrepreneurs know each other.

I also notice that when I visit companies. "

At a higher level

The concerns that companies bring to him concern topics such as the shortage of skilled workers and young talent, the switch to renewable energies and the high energy prices. What also lands a lot on Dold's desk are inquiries from companies that want to settle in the district - including at the air base in Penzing, as the 28-year-old says when asked by the KREISBOTEN. Those interested range from “hobbyists who want to park cars there to giant companies”. When it comes to Intel, however, he has no other level of knowledge than what can be gleaned from the press. "It's all on a higher level."

Sebastian Dold comes from Kirchheim unter Teck in Baden-Württemberg and studied geography up to a master’s degree at the University of Augsburg.

There he specialized in economic geography, location development and marketing.

He wrote his final theses in the bachelor's and master's degree programs on regional brands.

After taking parental leave substitute as a climate protection manager in the Augsburg district, Dold came to Landsberg.

But he still lives in Augsburg, which should stay that way.

"The way to work is good for switching off."

In his free time, the business developer enjoys spending time in the mountains - hiking, ski tours or paragliding.
