After a two-year adventure, this morning Cellcom CEO Avi Gabay announced his resignation from the largest communications company in Israel. Gabay returned to the technology industry after serving as chairman of the Labor Party and immediately afterwards, was appointed CEO of Bezeq.

Details about the reasons for leaving are still unclear, but rumors in the company's corridors spoke of a "feeling of exhaustion" on the part of Gabay who managed to bring the company to a profitable balance after about 3 years of continuous losses, and after completing the cooperation with Expon.
