How exactly is the corona requirements being taken at schools and universities?

And how safe do the students feel not to be infected at their training facility and to take the virus home with them?

District

- “In theory, I've been working here for a month and a half without any protection,” says Quirin B. The TU student is working on his master's thesis in Garching. He was vaccinated, but this has not yet been checked. For those who have not been vaccinated, there is actually a compulsory test, but that too is "not even rudimentary" checked.

Marie A. (19) is currently doing her apprenticeship, switching between block lessons at the vocational school in Rosenheim and her training position in the district. “I feel absolutely not safe,” she says. For health reasons, she decided not to be vaccinated. In the work, attention is paid to the fact that z. B. lunch is not served across departments, but vaccinated people are allowed to interact with the other departments. “I think it's unfair,” explains Marie. “Because they can't be absolutely sure that they won't be infected. And if someone has it and doesn't notice it, he can carry it around in the departments. ”In her opinion, therefore, the fact that only the unvaccinated have to be tested does not lead to anything. In addition, the tests would be done at home. "We make sure that everyone has a test",explains the 19-year-old. “The rest is based on trust. We just have to sign that we have tested ourselves. "

Magdalena V .: Requirements "totally stupid"

As a security measure, the LMU has designated extra corona spaces in the lecture halls. These should guarantee a sufficient distance to the next seat so that the masks can be removed in the hall. "Totally stupid when people sit between the Corona squares because otherwise there isn't enough space, and five students sit in the Corona squares without masks," says Magdalena V. "The distance is then no longer there. “The 23-year-old goes on to say that at the beginning of the semester there were still controls at the university,“ but now you have the feeling that nobody cares anymore ”. A face-to-face seminar has meanwhile switched back to online teaching - a private decision by the lecturer because it was “too hot” for her, not a requirement of the university. “You can't keep your distance in the small seminar rooms. There are 30 people sitting in a confined space, all with a mask, but the rooms are simply too small. ”Sure, she continues,“ You can't just put every fart seminar in the Audimax, ”says Magdalena.

Felix M. is doing further training in Rosenheim.

Before the autumn break, he says, the mask requirement was lifted in class.

“In the meantime, however, because of the increasing numbers, it is back in.” In addition, everyone who has not been vaccinated or recovered would have to test themselves regularly.

If someone tests positive, the whole class is obliged to test for a week.

“Everyone, every day,” emphasizes the 29-year-old.

Those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered could also voluntarily test themselves here at any time.

And because he has the same people around him every day, “I'm not very worried that I might get infected,” says Felix.

Teacher Josefine S .: "I'm sure I'll get it someday"

Josefine S, works as a trainee teacher at a school in the district. She explains that everyone in her seminar is vaccinated - with the increasing number of infections, FFP2 masks have to be worn again in the meantime. In addition, it is required that the trainees test themselves before each seminar date. "It is not checked, they assume that we are honest and that we do it," says the 25-year-old. And the FFP2 mask is now mandatory again in school, and it cannot be removed anywhere in the school building. But Josefine doesn't know whether she has to test herself. “I've only heard from other schools that teachers should test themselves every day,” she explains. Is she afraid of getting infected with Corona at school? “Not really,” says the 25-year-old. "I'm pretty surethat I will get it at some point because I work so close to the children. "
