Since 2009, the International Jigong Cultural Association and the Dongjing Circle Buddhist Association have organized the Jigong Cultural Festival every year during the Jigong’s birthday. In order to cooperate with the government’s anti-epidemic arrangements, some activities were conducted online last year and this year, but some members of the public can also participate this year. The event was moved to Jigong Temple on Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan.

The plaque "Weifu Yanwen" currently hung in the temple was cast in the Guangxu period to witness Jigong's achievements in fighting the epidemic at that time.

Jigong Temple, which is full of incense, was originally Guangfu Yi Temple, not a temple.

In the 1980s, the statue of Jigong was moved there to bring incense to the people of Wang Shanxin, and it was called Jigong Temple at the same time.

The plaque "Weifu Yanwen" currently hung in the temple was cast in the Guangxu period to witness Jigong's achievements in fighting the epidemic at that time.

The statue of Jigong currently placed in the temple was originally placed in a private temple in Dilong Lane, Wan Chai, but was later demolished due to land resumption and reconstruction. The statue of Jigong was finally located in Guangfu Yi Temple.

According to the Temple Zhu, believers who used to pay homage to Jigong in Wanchai, including some of the men and women of Qiji Gong, still visit the Jigong Temple on Taipingshan Street.

Professor You Zi'an, deputy director of the Hong Kong History and Culture Research Center of Zhuhai University, who specializes in Chinese history and folklore, said that one of Jigong’s beliefs is Qishen. Parents will arrange for their children to be Jigong’s children for their children to grow up safely and healthily.

Send children to Qijigong to pray for good health

Professor You Zi'an, deputy director of the Hong Kong History and Culture Research Center of Zhuhai University, who specializes in Chinese history and folklore, said that one of Jigong’s beliefs is Qishen. Parents, for their children, can grow up safely and healthily. The parents took their children to the temple to pray, and decided by throwing money to decide whether Jigong agreed to accept the child.

To this day, many believers still visit the Jigong Temple on Taipingshan Street, and they will also bring their children to Qi Gong to Jigong, and Qi children will also go to Jigong Temple to thank each other.

A spokesperson for the International Jigong Cultural Association said that he was very pleased to be able to move public participation activities to Jigong Temple this year, so that the public can have a deeper understanding of the origins of Jigong culture.

The association deliberately designed the Q version of Jigong into a variety of stickers, including daily language, festival celebrations, emoticons, etc., and visitors can download and use them on the spot.

In addition, the association selected some of the sticker designs, printed them into coloring picture books, and gave them away for free.
