The Speaker of the Knesset, MK Miki Levy, decided today (Sunday) to promote in a speedy process a law that will make it possible to establish the Ethics Committee in the Knesset, even in the absence of agreement with the opposition.
Levy convened a special meeting in his office that dealt with the issue, in which senior members of the Knesset Legal Bureau also participated.
Levy sought to draft a bill that would allow the establishment of the committee despite the opposition's refusal to cooperate with it.
Sources present at the meeting said that it has not yet been finally decided what the composition of the new committee will be, and the discussion is underway.
