Hohenlinden - In recent years the municipality of Hohenlinden has not made a profit with its speed cameras.

2020 was no different.

Municipal traffic monitoring appears to be important from an educational point of view, but on balance it is a negative business.

As is well known, there was no citizens' meeting in the form of a normal face-to-face event in Hohenlinden due to the current Covid-19 situation. In return, however, the municipal administration promptly provided the written summary on its website on the Internet, in which interested citizens can study all kinds of data and statistics about their municipality from the previous year. Ordinarily, as every year at a real meeting, the conglomerate would have been distributed to everyone in the town hall anyway.

As always, the people of Hohenlinden have to deal with an abundance of numbers here and this year that seem downright overwhelming.

Examples: In 2020, the municipality spent 59,965 euros on municipal traffic monitoring, as little as ever before.

But also took in significantly less, namely only 44 152 euros.

So on balance a negative deal.

That was the municipal flashing, but also in 2018 and 2019.

Costs are higher than the income

The number of pupils remained almost stable: there are currently 107, in the 2020/21 school year there were 110 boys and girls.

The lunchtime care is becoming more and more popular, currently 42 students are accommodated there, previously there were 39.

According to reports, the focus in the next few years will be on the development of building areas in Altmühlhausen and Altstockach, the planning and construction of a children's house, the new construction of a BRK garage, the renovation of the showers and changing rooms in the teaching pool area, the continuation of the town center design, the expansion of the Altmühlhausen industrial park, broadband expansion and the purchase of photovoltaics on municipal buildings.
