U-turn after a few weeks: This will apply in future in Bavarian clubs, discos and bars

They weren't allowed to open until October - that's over now.

Due to increasing corona numbers, Prime Minister Markus Söder announced the closure of clubs, discos and bars.

Munich - Party people in Bavaria had to wait a long time for clubs and discos to open.

The facilities were only allowed to reopen in October after a compulsory break of around one and a half years.

Just over six weeks later, however, that is all over again.

In view of the dramatic Corona situation, all clubs, discos, bars and pubs in Bavaria have to close for the next three weeks.

This was announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on Friday after consultations with the CSU-Free Voter Coalition in Munich.

Söder closes clubs in Bavaria - health system on the verge of "collapse"

Bavaria's Minister of Health, Klaus Holetschek, defended the new corona rules in Bavaria and urged caution, solidarity and a willingness to vaccinate.

"If this continues, our health system is on the verge of collapse, definitely," he said.

The measures decided are consistent and correct.

"Anyone who doesn't think the situation is serious, dramatic and worrying just needs to speak to nurses and doctors," he said.

"People fight for the lives of others in the intensive care units." He called the fact that operations had to be postponed a condition that was actually unbelievable.

And today's new infections would not arrive in the hospitals for two weeks.

Parties with 1000 people - Söder-Minister finds clear words

When he reads about parties with 1000 people - like the one that took place in the Rottal - "then for me it is already an act of willful bodily harm." While people fought for others, were intubated, said goodbye to relatives or fought for their lives, they left others celebrate.

Everyone can make a voluntary contribution by avoiding contacts and showing some consideration.

In the catering trade there is also a curfew from 10 p.m., as Söder also announced.
