Al-Arabi Club from As-Suwayda won 24 medals in the Premier League Karate Championship “elite” for age groups, which was recently hosted by Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus.

The medals were distributed between 9 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze, first place in the general arrangement for the categories under 16 and under 18, and second place for the under 14 years category.

In the under 14 years category, Al-Arabi won two golds by Zain Al-Amatori in the individual kata and Rayan Nasr in the fight in the under 50 kg weight and two silvers through Zain Al-Amatori in the fight in the under 30 kg and Bahr Azzam in the weight under 45 kg and four bronzes for each of Jana Jerboa in the weight of under 28 kg and Nagham Al-Aysami in the weight of under 48 Ward Abu Mahmoud weighed under 60 kg and Rayan Abu Fakhr weighed under 70 kg.

Al-Arabi Club in the U-16 category won three gold medals in the fight by Rayan Murad (under 40 kg), Sufyan Al Shaer (under 70 kg and Zaid Abu Hala (over 70 kg) and two silvers by Lyn Abu Alwan (under 54 kg) and Aws Thabet (under 70 kg) and won 4 bronzes. Lynn Abu Alwan in single kata, Raneem Masoud, under 54 kg, Eva Rafeh, over 54 kg, and Ashraf Al Harfouch, under 63 kg.

Al-Arabi Club in the under-18 category won 4 golds through Khaled Abu Alwan and Hadeel Abu Raslan in the individual kata and Yasmine Mahmoud in the fight with a weight of 59 kg and Reem Abu Dargham with a weight of above 61 kg and 3 silvers for each of Raneem Abu Dargham in the kata and Natalie Azzam in the fight in the under-48 kg and Jalal Al-Awar in the underweight category 61 kg.

In a statement to SANA, a member of the Technical Committee of Karate in Suwayda, Numan Kiwan, indicated that the tournament witnessed wide participation, good organization and acceptable arbitration, indicating that the Al-Arabi Club players were distinguished by their presence on the rug with kata and fighting.

Al-Shoala and Nassib clubs from Daraa also achieved good results in the tournament. Al-Shula’s club had 8 medals, winning 4 golds through Muhammad Nour Khamis, Hamza Khamis, Ahmed Ammar Al-Muhammad and Ahmed Darwish, two silvers by Yazan Hammad and Hadiyat Alyan, and two bronzes by Fikri Khamis and Muhammad Dhamiri.

While Nassib Club won six medals, Hashem Al-Zoubi won the gold medal, Mustafa Masalmeh and Yahya Bajbouj won two silvers, and Tim Abu Zureik, Milad Al-Balkhi and Ibrahim Masalmeh won three bronzes.

Head of the Executive Committee of the Daraa Sports Federation, Muhammad Al-Jahmani, pointed out that Al-Shula and Nassib clubs were able, with persistence and determination, and after extensive training, to achieve these good results in this tournament, which witnessed the participation of the elite karate champions.

The coaches of the two clubs expressed their players' readiness to intensify their training in the coming period to participate in the next season's tournaments vigorously to win more shining medals.
