History of energy:
Israel signed a memorandum of understanding with Jordan and the United Arab Emirates today (Monday), for regional cooperation in the fight against the climate crisis, with the cooperation and support of the United States. 600 megawatts and additional storage, and Israel will examine the export of desalinated water to Jordan in the amount of up to 200 million cubic meters.
The letter of intent document was signed by Energy Minister Karin Elharar, United States Emirates Climate, Water and Food Security Minister Miriam Al-Mahiri, and Jordanian Water and Water Minister Dr. Muhammad al-Najer. Van Keri, was held at the UAE pavilion at the Expo complex in Dubai.
The statement of intent includes two international programs.
The first is the construction of photovoltaic facilities and the ability to store energy in Jordan, and the green energy produced there will be exported to Israel.
The second - an examination of the construction of a water desalination facility in Israel, and the export of the water that will be desalinated there to Jordan.
The details will be summarized and a concrete feasibility study for the implementation of the projects will be carried out during 2022.
According to Minister Elharar, "All Eastern residents will benefit from the Memorandum of Understanding, not just Jordan and Israel. This is a message to the whole world about how countries can work together to fight the climate crisis."
