Hairdressing salons in Bavaria are about to close again in some regions.

The national guild association sharply criticized Söder's decision - and asked for help.

Munich - The corona situation in Bavaria remains tense. Markus Söder therefore decided on new measures for the Free State. The 2G rule applies nationwide to hairdressers from Wednesday. Previously, customers could also get a haircut with a negative PCR test. Doris Ortlieb, managing director of the State Guild Association of the Bavarian Hairdressing Trade, already considered the 3G-plus rule to be "completely disproportionate and excessive."

However, the incidences in Bavaria continue to skyrocket.

Nine circles are currently above the 1000 mark and are therefore considered hotspots.

In these areas, the measures are now being tightened even further - a lockdown threatens.

Tomorrow, Tuesday (November 23), the state government will officially announce this.

For services that are close to the body, such as hairdressing salons, this means that they will be closed again.

Christian Kaiser, state guild master, is stunned by this decision.

Hairdressing Association sharply criticized Söder's lockdown decision

"A closure means the death of companies and a migration to undeclared work and thus a further uncontrolled spread of Covid 19 * in society," Kaiser is quoted in a press release from the regional guild association.

“This is not a responsible policy for the Free State,” he grumbles, “but purely symbolic politics if this horror scenario occurs.” The government expects an effective immediate program in the form of sales compensation and immediate tax deferrals.

"Many of our companies have not yet recovered from more than 16 weeks of state-ordered lockdown," said the state guild master.

Quite a few would not be able to cope with the renewed closure.

"A hairdressing salon was and is not a hotspot if it adheres to strict hygiene measures."

In other federal states, hairdressers are basic services

In other federal states, where the incidences are also high, hairdressing salons are allowed to remain open.

For example in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Saxony.

There they were defined as basic care.

"Only in Bavaria does the government seem stubborn and rely on sheer actionism without taking the facts into account," Kaiser continued.

Kaiser was disappointed that those responsible in politics did not seek discussion with the hairdressing trade.

“That is absolutely not a good style that we otherwise maintain with each other in Bavaria.” He therefore calls for an “inter-ministerial working group with the participation of the state guild association”.

He also appeals to the members of the state parliament not to approve the renewed closure of hairdressing salons.
