Against the background of the tension and the increase in terrorist incidents in Jerusalem in recent weeks, the US Embassy in Israel issued a warning to its employees yesterday (Sunday) and asked them to refrain from reaching the Old City.
"Because security incidents often occur without warning, citizens are strongly advised to remain vigilant, take appropriate action and increase awareness of their surroundings. Due to recent security incidents in and around the Old City of Jerusalem, government employees and their families have been advised to avoid the Old City until further notice."
