District - District Assembly President Josef Mederer, Starnberg District Administrator Stefan Frey and AOK Director Maximilian Georg have recently signed the contract for the establishment of the Starnberg care base. The base contract will now be sent to the other participating health and care insurance funds for signature. The aim is to create a comprehensive and independent advisory service close to home on all aspects of care for the people in the Starnberg district.

The Starnberg district council unanimously decided in July 2020 to set up a care support point and operate it as an employee model. This means that the Starnberg district acts as an employee and works provider. At the turn of the year on January 3, 2022, the care support center will start its advisory work. Its rooms will be located in the branch of the Starnberg District Office, Moosstrasse 18b, in Starnberg.

District Assembly President Josef Mederer thanked everyone involved for the “very good and constructive cooperation at the administrative level”. Mederer said: “The care support point will be a guide and guide through the complex systems of care, social and health services for the citizens of the Starnberg district. The district of Upper Bavaria participates financially as well as providing on-site advice on services for people with disabilities and help with care. We look forward to the joint consultation for the well-being of the people in the Starnberg district. "

Starnberg's District Administrator Stefan Frey said: “It suddenly hits a lot of families. Suddenly the parents become a need for care. What to do? Surf the Internet? Oh well. How does the care work, what options are there? What suits the individual life situation best. Only professionals can answer these questions. And for this we create the right offer in the district. With the care support point, we offer independent and neutral advice on all care-related matters, in particular on the social benefits due in the case of care. Specialists in the field of care with the qualifications required by law as care advisors are advised. In addition, various other social advisory services from the Starnberg District Office will be located in Moosstrasse. Debtor and insolvency advice,the pension advice, the specialist office for seniors and the disability officer of the district thus together with the care support point form a bundled social advice center in Starnberg. "

AOK director Maximilian Georg explained: “With the care support point here in Starnberg, another advisory service is being created for people in need of care and their relatives. We are very much looking forward to working with them, as competencies and advisory services from various local actors can now be brought together and bundled for the benefit of those affected. Our more than ten years of experience in care advice shows that the strong demand for qualified advice continues unabated. The new care support point helps to continue to ensure a high quality of advice on regional offers relating to care. "

Two thirds of the costs for the care support point are covered by the care and health insurance companies;

the remaining third is divided equally between the district and the district.

According to the operating concept, the declared aim of the care support center is to offer high-quality local care advice from a single source and to network the support services on site.

The care support point works in a non-competitive and independent manner.
