A 26-year-old Polish woman paid for a mountain tour in the Karwendel with her life.
She was traveling alone and probably crashed on the way towards the western Karwendelspitze.

- A sad weekend in Mittenwald: The police were only able to recover the body of a young woman on Saturday. The 26-year-old Polish woman paid for a mountain tour in the Karwendel with her life. Initial investigations revealed that the mountaineer was probably on Friday alone on a tour in the direction of the western Karwendelspitze (2385 meters). When a friend could no longer reach her, she alerted the responsible authorities.
The Mittenwald mountain rescue service immediately started looking for the 26-year-old.
Also out and about in the already snow-covered high mountains: the alpine police force, supported from the air by a helicopter.
Its crew was finally able to locate the missing person's cell phone.
A short time later, the lifeless woman was found.
The subsequent rescue and the recording of the accident were carried out by two police mountain guides.
They came to the conclusion that the Polish woman must have slipped on icy ground at around 1900 meters and subsequently fell an estimated 80 meters below the surface.
She sustained fatal injuries.
