The SPD and FDP in the federal government are against compulsory corona vaccination - at least a general one.
The virologist Christian Drosten apparently has doubts that Germany can cope with the pandemic like this.
Berlin - The neighboring country Austria is now resorting to the general compulsory vaccination in an emergency.
“There won't be,” said Foreign Minister Heiko Maas (SPD) categorically, regarding the introduction of a corona vaccination requirement in this country.
"Because we don't consider it necessary, because we also consider it difficult from a constitutional point of view."
However, the number of infections in Germany during the pandemic is by no means much more encouraging.
The positioning of the traffic light parties in the question of mandatory vaccination therefore led the virologist Christian Drosten to warn immediately in a tweet.
“Nothing can replace an almost complete closing of the vaccination gaps,” emphasized the institute director at the Berlin Charité.
“If you haven't got it, you haven't got it yet.” He linked a newspaper article about Maas' statement.
"Boosters" could calm the incidence in winter, but with the current loophole, Germany would not get into the endemic situation, Drosten also wrote.

Dispute about the compulsory corona vaccination: Aschenberg-Dugnus goes to Söder
The FDP health politician Christine Aschenberg-Dugnus, in turn, criticized Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) for being open to (partial) corona vaccination.
Such a "threatening backdrop" does not help anyone.
"Especially the countries with dramatic corona numbers should concentrate on expanding the vaccination offers as agreed and implementing the new corona measures," she told the

In Austria, a new lockdown will begin on Monday (November 22nd), which will also affect vaccinated people and will last for a maximum of 20 days.

New survey on general compulsory corona vaccination with clear results
A majority of people in Germany, however, are in favor of a general compulsory corona vaccination.

commissioned.
The Insa Institute found that 52 percent of those questioned are in favor and 41 percent are against.
The remaining seven percent were undecided or did not provide any information.
In a recent Forsa survey on behalf of

, as many as 64 percent of those surveyed were in favor of a general corona vaccination requirement in Germany.
36 percent were in favor of vaccination being voluntary.
According to the survey, only the AfD supporters were mostly against a general corona vaccination light with 72 percent.
