Dachau - Stadtwerke Dachau has been able to keep the prices for natural gas stable for three years, and for electricity, the utility company says in a press release, prices were even reduced in 2021.
But in the new year electricity and natural gas will become more expensive.
“Thanks to our forward-looking and risk-minimizing procurement strategy, we can limit the effects of large price fluctuations on the wholesale markets on our tariffs. Like many other energy providers, we cannot fully compensate for the current cost increases, ”says Christian Diecke, sales manager at Stadtwerke Dachau. "The bottom line is that these factors have unfortunately meant that we too have to increase prices on January 1, 2022."
However, the prices for customers would remain fair, according to the Stadtwerke.
A household with an average annual consumption of 3500 kilowatt hours pays 3.50 euros more per month for electricity (Best-Strom privat D tariff).
In the case of natural gas, a household with an average annual consumption of 15,000 kilowatt hours is around 29 euros more per month (tariff Vario-Wärme D 120).
The prices on the energy exchanges rose sharply in 2021.
The wholesale price of natural gas increased by around 440 percent between January and October.
The sharp rise in natural gas prices are also responsible for the price hikes in electricity, among other things.
Because natural gas is not only used in the heating sector (heating and hot water preparation), but also to generate electricity.
