"If your genitals know how to sing, do you think you can sing baa songs?" When it comes to genitals, many people will feel ashamed to talk about women's body and sex. The female team behind "Dear Labia" To break these prejudices, hold the first exhibition of genital plaster casts in Hong Kong. The curator hopes to make the public understand the diversity of female genitals, and also hope that through the exhibition, more women can appreciate themselves.

The exhibition of genital plaster casts is located on Shan Hing Street, Central. The opening ceremony will be held on the 27th of this month. The exhibition will be held from November 25 to December 8. Jointly curated, the two-week art event includes a series of workshops and exhibitions: "Dear Labia" interactive art exhibition, genital plaster casting workshop, DIY vaginal mirror box workshop, and body exploration symposium.

The exhibition stems from a cup of tea: Hong Kong people’s genitals are ever-changing

Paticia and Lisa are the two founders of the local fermented tea brand TABOOCHA (big cup tea). They have always believed that women should try to explore and appreciate themselves more, without fear of talking about the genitals and thinking about the relationship with themselves. For this reason, they have launched a cup Xinhuamei-flavored tea, accompanied by pubic illustrations drawn by local artists, but the prototype of this exhibition is the launch party for this new-flavored fermented tea.

Lisa said that the current generation is different from the past. In addition to wanting to express to the public that women can be excellent as bosses, they also want to further promote the message that "we are all bosses of our own bodies."

Lisa believes that "from the small to the big, it is possible that women will not be so bold in their social shape to talk about the topic", so she wants to provide a channel for the public to participate in the discussion.

After thinking about it, the two founders brought in Vera, a sex educator.

Sex educator Vera has always been a big fan of Big Cup of Tea. In the past, Big Cup of Tea also actively supported her "Women Festival". Vera suddenly had a whim and planned an art exhibition of plaster casts from the genitals.

Vera said that many foreign artists will make body plaster models, such as breasts, penis, nipples and pubic parts. In the past, when conducting sex education work in Hong Kong, they used foreign-born sexual models to teach students to explain that women’s genitals are actually There are many different appearances, such as the size and color of each person’s labia, which reminds Vera that he has never tried to present a pudendal model made by Hong Kong people to students. "If you can get a Vulva Cast in Hong Kong, (Public plaster model). From the perspective of education, the general public knows that the genitals of Hong Kong people are ever-changing, and there are many different appearances."

30 female one-on-one casts from doubt to touch

Before holding the exhibition, Dear Labia first held a pudendal moulding workshop, and the team worked time and time again before arranging the most suitable weight.

The three founders were also very skeptical at first that the public would accept a pudendal mold workshop, "That is to say, Hong Kong people would be willing to use a stranger to mold a place of privacy, and they would trust us to do it. "Unexpectedly, two or three days after the opening of registration, the number of workshops will be full.

"Some people have never seen their own genitals."

Vera personally modeled all the participants. She thought that seeing the thirty genitals in the whole experiment was not the most unforgettable and what she remembered most. Instead, she found that the participants were integrated and they naturally formed a group. Group chat, the content mostly revolves around sex, eroticism, physical and emotional troubles, and recent menstrual cup experiences.

Vera said that he had never thought of holding a mold-making workshop that would make a group of participants become friends. It turned out that Hong Kong people really need a face-to-face discussion space.

Vera said that many participants agreed that the public should be aware of the diversity of female genitals. "Some people have never seen their own genitals. If they have a relationship, they will not have a close relationship with their (pubic). I watched, but I watched so little, and for various reasons, he wanted to show his own genitals."

Women are too harsh on the genitals, "will ask if you can have Candida"

Vera said that the idea of the exhibition is to allow women to appreciate their own genitals from another angle. For example, most people use mirrors to look at their genitals. Women cannot watch their own genitals like men. Many Hong Kong women have a different relationship with their genitals. Unhealthy, the genitals will be filled with different negative emotions, such as fear, dislike, harshness, etc. "He will ask you not to have Candida or vaginitis, and you will care for your genitals. But when When I want to orgasm or excitement, I will ask how to get rid of dampness? How to get rid of it?"

But when we cast a genitals into a plaster cast, the participants really saw the pores, veins and texture of the labia in the genitals with face to face. The feeling is the same as if you want to live in a mirror. .

Sex educator Vera

After the mold-casting workshop was over, Vera found that the participants had a very miraculous change, "I originally stood by it, so I didn't show it, but after the mold-casting workshop, I found that the eyes (participants) were looking at his own genitals. It’s the look in the eyes of a person who usually looks at his body, and his expression seems to be close to appreciation."

The two founders of Big Cup of Tea also participated in the mold-casting workshop. Patricia, who had just given birth to a child, described herself as quite conservative. Described as touched, I feel that I have never touched and understood it well in the past many years.

Lisa said that her understanding of the genitals is different. "I used to worry about the smell of the genitals. When I return home, I will feel that all the molds are beautiful, and I will observe them with an attitude of appreciation."

Participants write a monologue for the vagina model

Each participant will write a monologue for the model, and the workshop designed some interesting questions for them to answer, such as "If the genitals can sing a song, will they sing a song? You like to eat and drink after the orgasm? Vera laughed and said that everyone’s monologues are different. Some participants said that their genitals are "fried chicken flavor." Some people are grateful that their genitals have been with her. The monologue is also one of the original intentions of this exhibition--" There is a story behind every genitals."

Those who come to watch the exhibition can read the story through the QR Code next to the plaster model.

In addition, visitors can walk into Hong Kong's first "vaginal tunnel" curated by Hong Kong fashion designer Kay Wong, or write a letter to the genitals on the spot to successfully end this journey of self-exploration.

Be independent and self-loving. Model illustrators use flowers to describe women: Feminism is not only a strong side, "be yourself", "be yourself". Artists insist on painting and sigh: Hong Kong is good for women.
