Clinic has increased its intensive care bed capacity to the current maximum of 20.

Ten of the patients treated there suffer from Covid-19 symptoms, according to the district office on Monday, eight of them have to be ventilated.

A total of 34 corona patients are in the clinic, 24 of them from the Ebersberg district.

These are all previously unheard of highs as a result of the recent surge in the number of infections, which also far exceed anything previously seen.

21 of the patients are unvaccinated, ten are vaccinated.

The district office was not available to answer questions about the apparently three unclear cases.

According to the district authority, two vaccinated patients are in the intensive care unit.

There are nine suspected cases in the clinic.

Currently, 63.46 percent of the district citizens are considered fully vaccinated, 9.40 percent already have a so-called booster vaccination, according to the district authority.

Long queues at the vaccination bus

The capacity of the vaccination bus has been significantly exceeded in the last few days, resulting in long waiting times.

The district office announced on Monday.

If you want to avoid this, you should make an appointment at the two vaccination centers in Ebersberg or Poing.

This is best done online at www.impfzentren.bayern.

Appointments can also be made on the vaccination center's hotline on Tel. (0 80 92) 86 31 40.

Outbreak in Steinhöring: Series test on 275 people in the care center

The care center for people with disabilities, the facility association in Steinhöring, is currently struggling with a corona outbreak among residents and employees.

As has only now been announced by the BRK district association, a short-term series test on 275 people in the facility and their living groups took place on Sunday, November 14th.

When asked about development cooperation, the general manager, Gertrud Hanslmeier-Prockl, spoke of 18 positive tests, to which more have been added since then.

The positive tests occurred mainly in the mostly vaccinated residents, but also in vaccinated and unvaccinated employees.

A booster campaign has recently started in the facility group.

Extensive tests have also been carried out in the Eglharting branch and its residential groups.

Mild gradients - workshops closed for a week

Fortunately, the disease has so far been mild, so Hanslmeier-Prockl continues. Last week, in order to counter the spread of the virus, the association's own workshops for internal staff were closed and the residents were “cohorted” in the residential groups, i.e. the groups were separated from one another. As of Monday, the workshop was closed for a total of one week.

"We have it under control," said the EVS boss about the outbreak. Nevertheless, further infections cannot be ruled out. Even before the outbreak in the facility network, the incidence in the Steinhöring community was over 1000 (currently: 1203.34 with 49 active cases). "We made it through the first three waves," said Hanslmeier-Prockl. In view of such numbers, virus cases were to be expected among the residents despite the high vaccination rate - after all, the aim was to enable the residents who had suffered from the long lockdowns to participate in social life as much as possible.

In view of the illnesses, it is now important to ensure care - which has so far been possible thanks to the commitment of the employees.

"I hope that we can get through this until Christmas," said the EVS boss at EZ on the phone.

Why the district office did not report the outbreak for more than a week, the authority left unanswered on Monday.
