“Tiger King” program participant Jeffery Lynn Johnson, 58, died of an apparent suicide that occurred on Sept. 8, during an argument with his wife, the Florida Police Department said Monday. Oklahoma City to CNN.
According to IMDbPro, Johnson, a former reptile trader, appeared in an episode of the 2020 series "Tiger King" on Netflix.
Police were dispatched to the family's home shortly after 10 p.m., Sept. 8, for a suicide attempt, according to the police incident report.
Johnson's wife, Charity, told police that her husband committed suicide in front of her during an argument in their garage.
Their children, ages 4 and 5, were inside the home at the time, the report says.
Johnson still had a pulse and was taken to hospital, but was later pronounced dead, according to the report.

An attorney for Joseph Maldonado, known as Joe Exotic on the Netflix documentary series "Tiger King," confirmed that he had spoken to Johnson's widow about the incident.
According to the report, Johnson "had no history of mental health."
