A building fell on the campus of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. At 1:16 pm today (21st), a man fell by the swimming pool on the first floor platform of the Run Run Run Shaw Stadium. The man was sober and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The police investigated the cause of the accident and initially classified the case as an industrial accident. However, after investigation, it was suspected that someone had attempted suicide and jumped off the platform on the first floor. The case was classified as an attempted suicide.
It is understood that the victim is an employee at the site and has a medical record.

The PolyU responded by confirming that a man fell from the first floor of the Run Run Run Shaw Building of PolyU this afternoon. The man was an employee of an outsourcing company and has been sent to hospital for treatment.
The school and the outsourcing company have dispatched staff to follow up immediately and will do their best to provide the necessary assistance.
