Markus Söder has linked the drug policy of the Ampel coalition with pandemic management. An FDP MP then indirectly accused him of smoking weed himself. Kevin Kühnert and Cem Özdemir also got involved.

The CSU chairman Markus Söder caused outrage among the future traffic light coalition with a tweet.

“The traffic light misjudged the situation.

It is inappropriate to abolish the epidemic emergency and legalize drugs at the same time, ”he wrote.

The traffic light parties have reportedly agreed in their coalition talks to legalize cannabis under certain conditions.

In addition, the FDP, SPD and the Greens, who have a majority in the Bundestag, want the epidemic emergency to run out.

Instead, I want a new one

Infection Protection Act regulate the corona measures.

What exactly the drug policy should have to do with the Corona measures does not emerge from Söder's tweet.

Cem Özdemir, member of the Bundestag for the Greens, apparently couldn't see anyone.

"Anyone who recognizes a factual context here has either just pulled one off himself or is called Markus Söder," he wrote.

Katharina Schulze, leader of the Greens in Bavaria, wrote: “It's always the other's fault.

How about some self-reflection, why Bavaria has such bad values? «Vaccination is too slow in the Free State, the vaccination rate is too low.

"Really Cheap"

The SPD also responded to Söder's post via Twitter within a few minutes.

"Pity.

That's really cheap, ”wrote Karl Lauterbach.

Kevin Kühnert tweeted: "Because of Corona, beer cellar speeches are now apparently also available digitally." Sarah Philipp, member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia, wrote: "Yes, it is true.

He actually rules a federal state. "

FDP member of the Bundestag Maximilian Mordhorst reacted in a similar way to Cem Özdemir.

At Söder's tweet you can see: "Everyone can get hold of it anyway, even though it's illegal." Bijan Djir-Sarai, foreign policy spokesman for the FDP, complained about Söder's level:

Exit restrictions are no longer provided

Söder had previously made it clear in a press conference that, in his opinion, the new Infection Protection Act was not enough.

He was sure that the traffic light had to be improved, he said.

According to the law submitted by the SPD, the Greens and the FDP, the federal states still have the option of imposing or maintaining certain measures - these include the mask requirement, contact restrictions and bans on events in leisure, culture and sport.

On the other hand, travel bans, exit restrictions, schools and shops are no longer allowed.

However, there is a transition period until December 15: If countries still order more far-reaching measures according to the previous legal situation, these can continue to apply until mid-December at the latest.
