Most Latin American countries exceed the global vaccination rate against covid-19, according to figures from Our World In Data.

As much of Europe faces a new wave of infections, Latin American governments are making an effort to boost their vaccination campaigns against covid-19.

Most Latin American countries exceed the global vaccination rate (53.3%) with at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine, according to figures from Our World In Data.

But some are still below 40%.

Here we present the figures from Our World In Data with a cut-off date of November 21 (some countries, such as Cuba, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, among others, have figures from previous cut-off dates, according to the data available for the early morning of the Monday, November 22):

At the regional level, South America has an average partial vaccination rate of 71.44% and North America of 63.36%.

By way of comparison with the vaccination rates in Latin American countries, Spain has a rate of 81.74%, the United States of 68.48% and South Africa of 27.73%.
