The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today (Monday) discussed extending the detention of the mayor suspected of being involved in the murder and disappearance case in Jerusalem, after evidence was gathered against him. The offenses attributed to him are murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. According to police, the suspect was present at the crime scene at the time of the murder, and disguised himself as a seduction girl. It was further reported that the suspect was a minor at the time of the murder.
The complex affair, which began 31 years ago, deals with the disappearance and death of the boy Nissim Sheetrit and the murder of Avi Edri. Another suspect was questioned with him, whose case will also be heard by the court.
"We were not shocked by the investigation, everyone was talking about it being part of the matter. The question was when it would happen," a local authority official said the suspect is headed. On the other hand, the mayor's attorney responded that "the mayor has nothing to do with the serious affair, and has no idea how his name is inserted into the shocking story. His connection to the incident is similar to his connection to Arlozorov's murder."
Earlier this month, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court discussed extending the detention of the seven suspects in the case - including Rabbi Eliezer Berland, leader of the Shuvu Banim community.
During the hearing, a police spokesman said the leader of the Shuvu Banim community was the sender according to the new killers in the affair.
He added that Berland "cooperated and linked himself to the offenses attributed to him".

In January 1986, Nissim Sheetrit, a 17-year-old ultra-Orthodox young man, disappeared after arranging to meet Mike, a man who had met Sheetrit and his friends a week earlier.
According to testimonies and publications at the time, Sheetrit had been violently attacked earlier by the modesty guards operating at the time on the Haredi street.
Attempts over the years to locate Mike, the anonymous man, have stalled.
Avi Edri's body was found in 1990. Edri was the director of a yeshiva in Jerusalem and his body was found lying in the woods.
Both men are suspected of involvement in both cases, while the woman is suspected of trying to seduce the boy at the request of those involved in his disappearance.
