Daraa City Council has started implementing a project to rehabilitate the road extending from Al-Hamamah roundabout, the eastern entrance to the city, to the archaeological area in Daraa Al-Balad.
Engineer Khaled Al-Masalma of the city council and the project supervisor said in a statement to SANA reporter that the project includes the restoration of the central island from Al-Hamamah roundabout to the Syrian Telecom branch as a first stage, in parallel with lighting the road with solar energy from Al-Omari Mosque in Daraa Al-Balad through the Karak roundabout to the Electricity Company as a second stage.
He added: The aim of the project is to restore movement to commercial markets and facilitate traffic to the archaeological area in Daraa Al-Balad while improving the aesthetic view.
