Kochel am See

- “It was better than the year before.

This year we were able to run to all stations again, ”reports Kreszenzia Kneidl when asked by our newspaper.

From an economic point of view, however, they are not at the level of previous years.

The ships are classified as regular services and are therefore subject to the RVO (Regionalverkehr Oberbayern).

The corona rules for public transport apply, and passengers had to wear mouth and nose protection during the journey.

“Everyone accepted that, it wasn't a problem,” reports Kneidl.

The tables on the boat have been dismantled.

Hikers like to cover parts of the route by boat

The shipping operators can confirm the trend towards hiking.

"The Felsenkeller, Schlehdorf and Altjoch route is a beautiful and popular route," says Kneidl.

The visitors would cover part of the way by ship.

The lines ran regularly.

"The big ship was always good enough."

Shipping traffic was not affected by rainy weather

Even though the summer was partly rainy, it didn't really affect shipping traffic.

"We only had to skip the flood in July."

Birthday or wedding celebrations on the boat, all of them special trips, were not carried out due to Corona rules.

The Felsenkeller-Echo trips with music have not existed for a long time - they were banned because sensitive eagle owl pairs nest in the area.

Break from the parish fair until Easter

The season for this year ended at the parish fair.

As usual, the break now lasts until Easter.

The ships do not need to be overhauled as large as the mountain railways.

Before Easter everything would be checked and, if necessary, repaired.
