Syrian resistance poetry from the heart of Jaramana camp for Palestinian refugees

Six contemporary Syrian poets gathered at the poetry festival hosted by the headquarters of the Palestinian Popular Liberation War Vanguard Organization “The Thunderbolt Forces” in Jaramana camp for Palestinian refugees.

The festival, which was held by the Palestinian People’s Committee against the Aggression against Syria and the Resistance in cooperation with the Idlib branch of the Arab Writers Union, the poems of the participants were limited to patriotic and resistant poetry in content and balanced poetry in form.

The head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, gave a speech in which he expressed the role of literature in general and poetry in particular in the history of the Syrian and Palestinian peoples’ confrontation with the Zionist entity and the rejection of the occupation, indicating the commitment of the participating poems to the approach of confronting and resistance to aggression and enabling poets to present real poetry.

And delivered the speech of the Palestinian People's Committee Against the Aggression against Syria and the Resistance, Akram Obaid, in which he referred to the suffering of the Palestinian people in the occupied lands and the necessity of the unity of the Palestinian people and their adherence to the liberation of their land, in addition to the continuation of the struggle with the Syrian people in the face of aggression against Syria and the resistance's adherence to the aim of liberating the occupied land.

The poet Tawfiq Ahmed shared in his poetic texts the suffering and concerns of the Palestinian people, pointing to the need for liberation and struggle in a poetic style that varied between the activation and the two parts, in which he combined the love of Syria and Palestine, committed to the language and the foundations of building poetry.

Poet Helena Atallah also recited a number of her poems that were committed to music, language, love of the land and resistance in order to liberate every occupied inch with sincere emotion and a coherent poetic language.

On the other hand, the poet Asaad Al-Diri delivered a poetic text in a modern prose style in which he rose to the level of art with a sincere emotional flow in which he concluded the text with great love for Palestine.

The poet Radwan Qassem, with his poetic texts, expressed his commitment and affiliation to the Palestinian cause and love for Syria with high poetic talent and a coherent and balanced event.

The texts of the poet Nabugh Asaad came in two forms, the first one describing the importance of the martyr and his role in preserving the dignity of the homeland, based on the music of the abundant sea, and the second uniting the Syrian and Palestinian peoples in the battle of destiny with the enemy.

The poet Amal Al-Manawer recited poetic texts in the style of the two halves, in which she focused on the love of the homeland and the importance of defending it with high poetic passion and enthusiastic music committed to language, narration and rhyme.

As for the interventions in solidarity with the poets and words, they were presented by the Secretary of the Palestinian Resistance Factions, Yasser Al-Masri, Bassam Hassan and others.

The head of the Idlib branch of the Arab Writers Union, the poet Muhammad Khaled al-Khidr, spoke about the interdependence of cultural struggle with the war in the field to document the victories and heroisms of the Syrian Arab Army and to affirm our rights in Palestine, the occupied Golan, and the Iskenderun Brigade.
