The Target shopping center chain announced on Monday that this year, like the previous one, it will close its stores during Thanksgiving, but will also maintain this measure from now on, according to The New York Times newspaper.
"What started as a temporary measure motivated by the pandemic is now our new standard," Brian Cornell, Target's chief executive, said in a statement.
Macy's will also not open its branches on this holiday.

In addition, the discounts and promotions of the holiday season have been brought forward to October,
instead of leaving them for Black Friday.
Walmart and Trader Joe's are other stores that have announced the closure of their stores on Thanksgiving, along with Macy's, Marshalls, Bloomingdale's, Office Depot and Staples, among others, reports NBC.
