Dießen - It sparked on the Kirtaschaukel at the parish fair in Dettenschwang.
Josef Baumann from Obermühlhausen fell in love with the pretty farmer's daughter Marianne from Pitzeshofen.
She couldn't wait until she finally turned 20 and was allowed to lead her Josef to the altar in Marienmünster.
Now, shortly after her 80th birthday, she and Josef (83) celebrated the rare diamond wedding in the neat little house in Pitzeshofen. Josef, a trained carpenter and building carpenter, built it himself, except for the electrics, after the bride's parents had donated the property. Daughter Roswitha, son Alfred, two grandchildren and many friends celebrated the diamond bride and groom. The mayor of Dießen, Sandra Perzul, also came to the congratulations: The cheering couple had grown closely together in all the years together and had gone through ups and downs. All of this made their marriage valuable and lasting, like a diamond.
Marianne Baumann is no stranger to Dießen either, having worked in the tourist information office for many years.
Her husband Josef was allowed to work as a construction carpenter on imposing buildings, including the tower of the Marienmünster in Dießen.
