Mittenwald - A tragic mountain accident occurred on Friday, November 19th, in the Karwendel.
A 26-year-old hiker died.
The Alpine task force of the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters undertook the investigation into the exact course of the accident under the direction of the Munich II public prosecutor's office.
A mountain tour by a 26-year-old hiker in the Karwendel came to a tragic end.
The Polish national was first reported missing by an acquaintance after she could no longer be reached.
Initial investigations revealed that she probably started on Friday, November 19, alone on a mountain tour towards the western Karwendelspitze.
Search measures were immediately initiated by the Mittenwald mountain rescue service, the alpine police force and a police helicopter.
The missing person was finally found lifeless by the police helicopter.
The subsequent rescue, as well as the accident recording, was carried out by two police mountain guides from the Alpine Task Force of the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters.
According to this, the 26-year-old slipped on an icy surface at around 1900 meters and then fell 80 meters below the surface.
She sustained fatal injuries.
