Seven people were taken into custody after a net hit between November 16 and 19. They are believed to be the head

Theft practiced industrially.

Ten people were arrested in Paris 1er, Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône and Pierrelaye between November 16 and 19, as part of a vast investigation into a network of burglars and shoplifters, affiliated with the crime organized Georgian, the Vory V Zakone (in French: "the thieves in the law").

Three of them were briefly detained before being notified of an obligation to leave French territory and then being sent to an administrative detention center. The other seven - five men and two women - were taken into police custody. Five of them were presented to an examining magistrate and charged with theft in an organized gang and participation in a criminal association. The liberties and detention judge placed four of them in detention. The latter was left free under judicial control, with various bans.

The case began in the second half of 2020 when the Val-d'Oise was hit by a series of aggravated thefts.

As they progressed in their investigations, the police realized that a significant number of these thefts were linked to a group of individuals of Georgian nationality partly residing in the Val-d'Oise.

Burglaries, shoplifting, theft of catalytic converters ...

A collaboration between the central office for the fight against itinerant delinquency (OCLDI) and the departmental security of Val-d'Oise (SD 95) was set up in November 2020 as part of a judicial investigation to overcome this network. Through their surveillance, investigators update the existence of several teams specializing in the theft of catalytic converters, burglaries or even shoplifting. Five of them were arrested by third party services during the investigation.

The suspects were targeting items that were not of great value.

Their aim was earlier to steal a significant number, including through shoplifting, for example to fulfill orders.

Added up, the price of stolen items has reached significant figures.

The flights took place in all the departments of Île-de-France, but also in Oise, Aisne and Vienne.

The seven people in custody are suspected of having led this organization.
