Winter is launching a first assault this week in France.
As expected, the thermometer drops quite sharply, especially at the start of the day, but the situation is not exceptional at this time of year.
This Monday morning, the frosts were very limited in France.
But the cold air coming from the Arctic Circle will accentuate its presence from Tuesday and for the days to come.
The frosts will then become more massive and pronounced.
As shown by these maps relayed by meteorologist Guillaume Séchet, these frosts will concern, among others, Ile-de-France.

But the raw temperature is not the only one responsible for the feeling of cold.
This feeling is accentuated by the wind.
As pointed out by The weather channel, gusts of up to 50 km / h are occurring this Monday in the North.
A phenomenon known as wind chill then takes place, which causes a feeling that is several degrees lower than the actual temperature.
For example, when it is 0 ° C and the wind blows at 50 km / h, the feeling is about -8 ° C.
It's not a cold snap
Météo France insists that this situation is not exceptional for the end of November.
From a meteorological point of view, winter begins on December 1, evening in just a few days.
The organization adds that the situation at the start of the week does not correspond to a polar cold wave, but to "winter temperatures, corresponding to seasonal averages of late December - early January".
To talk about a cold snap, two conditions would have to be met: that the temperatures were lower and that the situation lasted longer.
For now, the situation is only expected to last until Thursday.
Then, it is the uncertainty, the meteorological models not yet agreeing definitively.
Some do not rule out a new onslaught of cold for the weekend.
Finally, the week which begins promises to be particularly disturbed.
Wind, rain and snow are expected, possibly with lowland flakes in the north and east over the weekend.

The situation in the Mediterranean should be watched in particular in the middle of the week.
Météo France warns that, "in Languedoc-Roussillon, from the night of Tuesday to Wednesday and during the day on Wednesday, a rainy-thunderstorm episode takes place, with accumulations of precipitation which will have to be watched".
