"A speed race": the collective for the Triangle de Gonesse will go before the Council of State against line 17 North

After being rejected by the Administrative Court of Appeal of Versailles, environmental activists announce that they have filed an appeal against

We can no longer count the twists and turns on the Triangle de Gonesse.

The Collectif pour le Triangle de Gonesse (CPTG) and France Nature Environnement (FNE) Île-de-France have lodged an appeal with the Council of State against line 17 North of the Grand Paris Express, between Bonneuil-en-France and Le Mesnil-Amelot, "to save the agricultural lands of the Pays de France".

This decision follows the rejection, on October 7, of the appeal for suspension of works on this section by the administrative court of appeal of Versailles.

“Despite the financial costs that this implies, our decision to go before the Council of State is mainly justified by the surprise between the recommendations of the public rapporteur which were favorable to us and the final decision.

In the meantime, the government spokesperson went there to reaffirm to elected officials that the station would be done no matter what, surprised Bernard Loup, president of the CPTG.

Every time we went to the Council of State, we were blackballed.

We are in the bottom of the wave but we do not despair.

"

For several months, environmentalists have been hammering that "nothing justifies this station in the middle of the fields", recalling that "this stop was only added to serve the mega-complex EuropaCity" abandoned in 2019 and which would have represented "nearly half "Line 17 traffic." It is not the line that will prevent the exploitation of agricultural land on the Triangle, but above all this station.

However, there is no justification for line 17 North either, which will serve Le Mesnil-Amelot, a village of 1,100 inhabitants, ”adds Bernard Loup, also relying on the abandonment of Terminal 4 at Paris-Charles-de- Gaulle.

The expected extension of the T11 tramway

If this section were built, according to the activists, “it would damage 27 protected species, disrupt the water tables and destroy hundreds of hectares of excellent agricultural land.

This section of line would also lead to urban sprawl contrary to France's international commitments in the fight against climate change ”.

On the contrary, Bernard Loup considers that the Val-d'Oisiens rather need "an improvement of the existing transport and in particular the buses in the sector of Gonesse".

He is also awaiting "the extension of Tramway T11 which would serve the two stations of Argenteuil, the most populous city in the department".

On the works side, the Florence tunnel boring machine is currently digging between Bonneuil-en-France and Le Bourget Airport.

“It should then go to the Triangle de Gonesse by the end of 2021 but we hope that the station will not be done for two or three years and that, by then, the work will be interrupted.

It's a speed race.
