Antonio Ledezma, former metropolitan mayor of Caracas, points out that "there are no free elections in a country where state institutions are controlled by a dictatorship," referring to the regional elections held on Sunday in Venezuela.
The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) won 20 of the 23 governorships and the mayor of Libertador Municipality, which includes part of Caracas, announced on Monday the president of the Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE), Pedro Calzadilla.
