After a 2021 edition severely disrupted by the health crisis, the Angoulême International Comics Festival returns for its 49th edition to its classic format, from January 27 to 30, 2022. The event unveiled during a press conference at Museum of the history of immigration in Paris, the 46 titles of the official selection in the running for the Fauve d'or for best album.
Without losing its good habits, the festival gives pride of place to independent houses, going a step further this year.
Among the titles selected, we are delighted with the brilliant third volume
Spirou, the hope despite everything
, by Émile Bravo, from the sixth volume by

Among the novelties, at a time when ecology is emerging as a subject that is seized by many comic artists, the Festival is launching a Fauve dedicated to this theme: the Eco-Fauve RAJA. He also created, with the René Goscinny Institute, the René Goscinny Prize - Young Screenwriter, again devoting an emerging talent, which complements that which distinguishes a confirmed screenwriter. This year, the two awards, announced at the press conference, were awarded to Jean-David Morvan and his co-scriptwriter, the Resistant Madeleine Riffaud, authors of the excellent album
Madeleine Résistante
drawn by Dominique Bertail and published by Éditions Dupuis / Aire Libre as well as to the young Louise Monty and Raphaël Meltz for
